Water bombers and 60 firefighters were called to a bushfire in Ellenbrook this afternoon.
The blaze was burning close to homes, although emergency services said there was no threat to lives or property.
The fire started just before 2.30pm and burned out abut three hectares, near the corner of The Broadway and Elmridge Parkway.
Authorities said the fire was contained and under control.
Crews were mopping up in the area.
Motorists have been asked to avoid the area because of heavy smoke.
The cause of the fire is not known.
