RTRFM 92.1 will return to Hyde Park’s leafy surrounds for its annual Neon Picnic on Saturday, March 21.

Now in its fourth year the free, family-friendly event is becoming a fast favourite among fans of the beloved community radio station which will broadcast from the park’s amphitheatre between 11.00am and 5.00pm.

Along with the lineup of the station’s regular Saturday shows — Global Rhythm Pot, Homegrown and Drastic on Plastic — this year will feature amazing live sets from loop specialist and violinist Rupert Gunther, the punk rock vibes of Rinehearts and a very special Wanjoo To Country from Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse.

Later in the afternoon music enthusiasts can relax to the musical stylings of The Gemma Farrell Quintet, Lucy Peach and The Tommyhawks.

Kids will be catered for with special arts and crafts activities from the team at Spaced Out, including their massive Cardboard City, as well as a special Drag Story Times with Cougar Morrison.

Meanwhile mums and dads can enjoy food and drinks from Alby Beer, Olive Grove Wines, Twin Beaks Burgers, Curb Your Hunger, Better Beans Coffee and Kuld Creamery.

This year will mark RTRFM’s first annual Bake Sale, with presenters baking up a storm to raise funds to help keep the station on the air.

Entry is free and dogs are welcome.
