A Byford family has spent the past three weeks unaware they had won $1.3 million in lotto.
When the mother, who did not want to be named, told her family of their good fortune she said “everyone though it was a joke and that I’d gone mad”.
Tears of joy flowed as they reflected on their late husband and father, who often dreamt of what he would do with a big lotto win.
“He was convinced we’d win big one day and we have great memories of him talking about his dream to win the lotto,” the mother said.
The syndicate of five forgot to check their winning ticket for three weeks. It was bought at the Haynes Good News Agency in Brookdale.
