The 34-year-old man, believed to be called Kieren, had been riding home from a friend’s house about 1am when he came off his bike on Marmion Street.

A passing motorist saw him lying on the side of the road and pulled over to perform CPR before paramedics arrived at 2am. But the man succumbed to his injuries and died in Armadale Hospital later.

Security footage shows him riding home after midnight but details of the crash are not known. He had not been wearing a helmet.

Police urge anyone who saw the man riding a mountain bike west on Buckingham Road, Kelmscott or have dash-cam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
