A German man backpacking around Australia hasn’t been seen since Wednesday.
Andreas Wacker has spent the past year travelling and working in WA, sharing images of his Australian adventures online.
CCTV footage of Mr Wacker filling up his car with petrol at a service station in Rockingham on Wednesday evening is the last video of him.
Police are now searching for the 28-year-old who does not have a mobile phone. His family said his lack of contact is out of character.
“It’s hard to find somebody when you’re in a different country,” Mr Wacker’s aunt Andra Ann Ma said.
“Until I see him or hear from him, the next step is going down there and finding him myself.
“We miss him. We are terrified for him. Just contact us, let us know you’re okay.”
Mr Wacker’s family became alarmed when he didn’t contact them on his birthday last Sunday.
Police say he was last seen on Wednesday — first at Roar Fitness on Armadale Road in Jandakot in the early afternoon.
Six-and-a-half hours later he was spotted on security cameras at a service station in Rockingham filling up his Nissan Pathfinder.
But this is where the trail goes cold and Mr Wacker hasn’t been seen since. Police believe he could be travelling in the south-west, particularly in the Nannup area.
7 News understands he left his phone, wallet and clothes with a woman he had been staying with in Perth.
Police want to hear from anyone who has seen Mr Wacker or his car.
