Police are investigating reports of animal cruelty after CCTV footage revealed a four-wheel-drive killing young kangaroos at a school south-east of Perth.
The footage shows a four-wheel-drive driving onto the Bedfordale school’s oval on Admiral Road, appearing to target a mob of young kangaroos, striking and killing two of them instantly between 11.55pm and 12.05am over May 25 and 26 this year.
The driver then did a series of burnouts in the vehicle, destroying the grass on the school oval.
Police said the driver of the vehicle then stole a small unregistered camper trailer that was stored within the school grounds.
Police wish to speak to anyone who can identify the vehicle used (possibly a Nissan Patrol or similar), the owner and/or driver, and occupants of the vehicle.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
People may remain anonymous if they wish.
